A late afternoon view north toward La Bajada Hill and the El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro National Historic Trail. El Camino Real ran between Mexico City and Santa Fe for almost 300 years. Many travelers must have seen this view and looked forward to an overnight stop at El Rancho de las Golondrinas just south of Santa Fe and over the ridgeline.
